Extra camera batteries – not all cruise lines will have plugs that will be suitable for your charger and most of them charge a little bit expensive for batteries and other products.
Your hygiene stuffs – if you are very sensitive with your hygiene and there are certain specific products that you will use, then you need to bring them as not all products/brands will be available.
Ear Plugs – well, although most vessels are very high tech and the rooms are sound proof, it is still better to bring your own plugs in case your ship is not that quiet to ensure a good night sleep.
Making Friends On Board
If you are planning to cruise alone or even with a partner/group, it is always more fun to make friends during the cruise as those will be the same people who you will be with all throughout the cruise. Here are a few tips to make making friends a little bit easier.
Making friends with the cruise crew – one of the easiest to approach in a cruise ship are the crew. As you will be with them as long as you will be with other passengers all throughout the cruise, it is nice to chat with them and ask them tips on how people enjoy their cruise.
Hang with your age group – this is not generally stereotyping but as most age groups have the same interests and hobbies, it is easier to start a connection with a group of your age level.
Be active on board – cruise ships line up activities and have amenities and facilities for this wherein you can participate. The secret is not the activity/amenity/facility, but the group that you make while doing this things. Lets take sports for example, playing volleyball alone or just a couple is not as fun as a complete 5 on 5 team. By inviting other people you can have fun playing and make friends at the same time.
Dining – cruise ships gives you the option of being on your own table or sharing it with others. Pick a large table every time and make friends by offering the seats in your table.
Cruise Rules and Regulations
To avoid having any problems for your cruise, always know the rules and regulations of the ship and know all the details on how you can contact some one with cruise ship jobs, as they are trained for every situation, in case of emergency or other trips like on excursions.

Know your time – you should always set your watch to the ship's time as this will be the basis of time in case of visiting a port in a different time zone
don't be late as the ship will only wait for about 15 to 30 minutes after the scheduled sailing time. Port agents are assigned on ports in case a passenger gets left behind.
Listen to the Captain – know that the overall cruise ship operation and work on a cruise ship management is handled by the captain, always listen to what he has to say and always follow it. He has the authority to kick you out of the cruise if you will be doing some dangers to the crew, passenger or even yourself.
