As cruising is increasing its popularity in terms of tourism, the need for more cruise ships also rises. Tours from Helsinki, Tallinn and Rostock, the 32940 gross ton 1977 built ship can carry 1781 passengers with 172 crew to assist them and do cruise ship jobs.
Cruise Ship : Silja Festival
Tours places like Turku, Eland Islands and Stockholm, the 34414 gross ton ship built in 1986 can carry 1916 passengers with 180 crews.
Cruise Ship : Silja Serenade
Built in 1990, the ship travels Helsinki, Eland Islands and Stockholm. The ship can carry 2852 passengers with 264 cruise staff and weighs 58376 gross tons.
Cruise Ship : Silja Sympony
Built in 1991, the 58377 gross ton ship can carry 2952 passengers with 264 crews to the same destinations as the Silja Serenade.
Cruise Ship : Silja Europa
Can carry 3123 passengers with 300 staffs to attend to the ship and the passenger. Built in 1993 and weighs 59914 gross tons, the Silja Europa carries passengers in destinations like Turku, Eland Islands and Stockholm.

The Cruising Industry in Florida

Even with the current economic problems and issues, the cruise industry is still one of the great factors in keeping Florida's economy in good condition. The industry's leading trade group has reported that the cruise industry for Florida has generated more than 120,000 jobs and more than 6 billion in direct spending last 2008.
Cruise Lines International Association has reported that a 2500 passenger cruise ship has more than $300,000 economic impact every time it leaves for its itinerary.

The impact of the industry on Brevard Country is very substantial as it has six major cruise ships home ported at Port Canaveral, ports in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale which is the three busiest cruise port.

Bobby Giangrisostomi, deputy executive director of business development for Port Canaveral says that "The cruise industry serves as a valuable economic partner that has made Port Canaveral one of the primary economic engines for Brevard County”.

The Port was responsible for an estimated 9000 jobs, more than $200,000 wages and more than $160 million in annual economic output in Brevard in 2003.

More than 6 billion was added by cruise lines in direct spending to Florida's economy in 2008 while studies shows that cruising has generated more than 120000 jobs that pays more than 5 billion dollars.

It is their task to sail the ship, maintain the ship performance and physical state and keep it in accordance with fleet regulations and international maritime laws.

Cruise Ship Service Jobs
Jobs on this department are concerned with managing the restaurants, bars and passenger cabins, as well as shipboard retail concessions like souvenir and gift shops. They are the ones who serves food, beverages or any kind of product that can generate them a good amount of tip from the passenger. The ship's treasurer in charge of passenger accounts, currency exchange, ticketing and more, also called the purser, are also included in this category.

Cruise Ship Personal Care/Service Jobs
Fitness, beauty, spa and medical services are included in this category. This are very important jobs in a cruise ship since most passengers signed up for a cruise to enjoy themselves, relax, be comfortable and pamper themselves and the medical department are to render services in times of medical emergencies like simple cuts and bruises, allergies and being sea sick.


Cruise Ship Office Jobs
Office positions are generally for employees who works in the main office or branch arranging cruises, managing accounts or performing general office work onshore. Positions like administrative assistants, sales/marketing staff, clerical workers and booking agents are some of the jobs available in this category.
